Terms of Service
Effective August 16, 2026. Plain-language summary: be respectful, your work is yours, and don't abuse the service.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a Quire account or accepting an invitation to collaborate on a book, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. Your account
You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in access secure. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
3. Your content
You retain full ownership of everything you write, upload, or otherwise create in Quire - manuscripts, chapters, covers, and comments. We claim no rights over your content beyond what's needed to host it, back it up, and display it to the collaborators you invite.
You're responsible for having the rights to any content you upload, and for what you share with readers and editors you invite to a project.
4. Collaborators and invitations
Editors and readers you invite can access the book and stages you grant them. You're responsible for who you invite. Removing a collaborator revokes their access to that book going forward.
5. Plans and limits
Quire offers a free plan with reasonable limits on books and readers per book, and paid plans that lift those limits. Plan details and pricing are shown in the app; we'll give notice before any change that reduces what a paid plan includes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that's illegal, infringing, or that you don't have the rights to share.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Use invitations or the contact form to send spam or harassing messages.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with notice where practical.
8. Service availability
We aim for reliable uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We recommend exporting your manuscripts periodically using the built-in export tools, as a personal backup.
9. Disclaimers and liability
Quire is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind and aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
